Saturday Track Fun!

We headed to the North Oldham track for our Saturday practice! The kids worked so hard but little did they know what was in store for them at the end of practice.....

 We had invited the firetruck to spray the kids after their hard, track workout!

 and it was a hit...squeals of happiness filled the air!

It was so much fun! We can't thank you enough for making our morning so fun!

Finally!

 Our runners have been asking for them...and now that we finally have our official team...we welcome with love...Gatorade Slushies!

Welcome to Goshen XC

Today was the day.....

the day you choose to be a part of Goshen XC and commit to the team!

We started practice with the Oath......

 Our Pledge:

I, Goshen XC runner, do pledge today to work hard 

and give my best at all times. 

To support my team and my team mates all season long.

I won't give up.

I won't give in.

 And I will represent Goshen Elementary with pride.

Because I am a Gator Runner!

And Gator Runners Rock!

Our runners took the words to heart........

 and so did our coaches......

 Our runners said it....they believe it.....but they have not idea how much this team will mean to them in a few short weeks.....it just gets better and better...and means more and more to them every time they are together.....

 Doing something hard together...brings you closer....

 The Beast hill is so good for them...for getting them in shape....

 But sticking it out...together...cheering and encouraging... and finishing practice together....

 that's what makes a team.....

 and our team is coming together quite nicely......

 We celebrated the first day of school with new pencils for everyone!

most were neon but there were a few that were jungle print to represent our season song.....Roar by Katie Perry. If you were lucky enough to get a jungle print pencil you also got a Goshen XC water bottle!

We had a few winners for sure!

But they were all winners with a Gatorade slushy, a new pencil, the first day of school under their belt, and a team who loves them....

and now that these Gators are official.....tonight that cheer may have meant just a little more......

and that is a wonderful thing!

Barefoot Gators!

We started practice with our shoes on!

But tried a little something new and took those shoes off so we could see all those little piggies !

We had so much fun doing barefoot relays!

 What fun! Who needs shoes! Our winning relay team was all smiles!

The team is starting to come together as friends connect and expectations are established!
