Today we had our first XC meet of the season!
The Rumble in the Jungle!
The team gathered at the Goshen tent for the first time and we got ready for the meet! Numbers were handed out and pinned on...shoes were tied....and excitement was in the air!
The kids were happy and everyone was ready to experience their first meet of the season!
We all gathered to watch Nicole run...the team cheered for her
and she was amazing ....placing third!
The first race for our runners was the girls race. They lined up and the smiles turned to focus....
Finally the gun sounded....they were off and they were amazing!
As the pack comes toward you....you see why it is called the rumble!
Leading our team for the girls was Lauren Ashton in her first cross country meet ever! She was followed by Renee Grendi, Nina Walker, Hadley Fischer and Brooke Payne to round out our top 5 girls!
Can you hear the rumble!?
The boys were amazing too! Brandt Wilhelmi gave himself a birthday present by winning the race followed by Riggs Hardy, Jack Fischer, Rollins Hardy and Colin Schaffner to round out our top 5!
Finally it was time for the open race and these Gators gave it all they had too! So many of them improving their mile times by over a minute...there will be lots of speeding tickets for these gators for sure! Our top finishers in the open race were Ethan Lacey, Charlie Allen, Markus Puhakka, Jeremy Gillies and Brie Postema.
